    WWII Army veteran served four years after serving several years in the 3-C's. He was honorably discharged in December 1945 after serving four years in the South Pacific arena.

    Married Odell Mae Richardson (1920-2003) on 01/07/1946 in the court house in Richmond, Kentucky. Her father, Earl Richardson witnessed the marriage on that day. He met her on leave at his families home during the war and asked her to write him. They exchanged letters until the end of the war, when he decided to ask her to marry him.

    After marriage, they relocated to Shelby County Kentucky and lived on his brother Thomas Horn's 88 acre farm (Hwy 148)and during the first year they welcomed their first son, then moved to Louisville Kentucky when he secured a job with American Standard Company. They lived most of their married lives primarily in Louisville, Kentucky and had four more children all born at St. Joseph Hospital on Eastern Parkway and Preston Street. Two more sons, and two more daughters. They relocated back to Finchville, Kentucky in Shelby County in the early nineteen sixties (Approximately 1963). He lived the later part of his life back in Louisville, Kentucky and died at the Veterans Memorial Hospital, in Louisville, Kentucky in 1978.

    He fathered five children. Kenneth Earl (11/07/1946), Roger Lee(02/03/1949), Jerry Dean Horn(08/08/1952), Linda Faye Horn-Taylor (10/26/1955), and Dorothy Mae Horn-Yeager (02/07/1962).

    He has twelve grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren as of November 2013.

    His mother Mirandie Angel-Horn (1880-1974)and father Wilborn Horn (1873-1938)are buried in Cane Springs Cemetery, in Estill County, (Leighton)Kentucky. His grandmother Julia Ann Williams-Horn (1858-1941) is also buried there along with several brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces including Herbert (1907-1983)(Nora Horn), Feltner (1901-1918), Maphrey (1916-1917)Horn and Stella Horn-Stevens (1903-1991) (John Stevens). He has one brother Cornelius (1910-2002)(Lois McKinney-Horn)buried in Winston, Kentucky, another brother Thomas (1905-1988)(Claire Louise Janes-Horn) in Louisville, Kentucky and a sister, Pearl Horn-King (1921-2007) (Millard King)buried in Lexington, Kentucky.

    His grandfather, Simpson Merle Horn I (1828-1902)is buried in Williams Cemetery in Pryse, Kentucky in Estill County. His great-grandparents are Charles Horn (1804-1850) and Nancy Elizabeth Wells-Horn, and his great-great-grandparents are William Horn (B-1765 in Betterton, Maryland, d-1842 in Estill Cty) and Susannah Hall-Horn (1774-1849). His great-great-great grandparents is Aaron Horn I (b-1740 in Elsoff,Westphalia, Germany; d-1778 at Fort Boonesboro, KY)and Elizabeth Nee-Horn. His mother's parents Julias (Jules) Angel (1853-1942) and Lucy Brandenburg-Angel (d-1930's) burial plots are unknown but are located on the property of Jules Angel in Estill County, Kentucky. Several of his children are buried there as well. His mother's maternal grandparents are John Snowden Brandenburg and Martha White-Brandenburg (plots also unknown)at this time.
