- ↑ reg. Rosario, aged 34. The Otago Witness of 11 Jan 1905 reports: A private cable message announces that Mr G. R. Haydon, - eldest son of Mr Joseph Haydon, of " Virginia Country," Canterbury, was accidentally drowned on Wednesday, at "La Virginia," Cardobu. in the Argentine Republic. Mr G. Haydon left New Zealand about six months ago to take up a property which his father had, bought at Alberdi, in the Argentine, and was married shortly before he departed from the colony.
