    George Woods Graham, of the Gund-Graham Company, contractors and dealers in coal, wood and lumber at 54 East Stephenson street, Freeport, was born in this city, July 18, 1876. The family is of Scotch lineage and was early established in Pennsylvania. The first of the name in America was John Graham who was born in 1706 and died in 1780. He came to the new world from Ireland and was one of the early settlers of the Keystone state. The great-grand-parents were Henry and Elizabeth (Ferguson) Graham. The former served as a soldier of the American army in the Revolutionary war.
