From Dick & Claire DYAS: George Franklin DYAS; Obituary: George Franklin Dyas, son of David and Rececca Dyas, was born Jun 4, 1868 at Bellevue, Iowa and passed away at the Commumity hospital in Beloit, Kansas, April 6, 1952, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and four days.

 In 1872 came to Jewell county, Kansas, with his parents where they homesteaded a farm northeast of Randall.  It was there he grew to manhood.  He recieved his education in the Jewell county schools.
 In February 1887 he was united in marriage to etta Handley.  To this union one daughter was born.  May 27, 1889 his wife passed away.  Three months later his daughter passed away.
 On March 4, 1900, he was un;ited ijn mariage to Ruby Mills.  To this union five daughters and two sons were born.  In the spring of 1906, the family moved to Trego County, and returned to Jewell County, moving to Formoso in October 1920.
 In 1923 the family moved to Randall.  The business of his life was that of  blacksmithing.  He was a kind husband and loving farher.  He retired i;;n June 1947 and lived i n Randall until the dare of his death.  He had been ;in failing health some few months prior to his passing.
 His wife, one son, one daughter, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
 He leaves to mourn his passing: five children, Ruth Moore of Randall, Orpha  Rees of Scottsville, Velma Purcell of Randall, Roy Forest Dyas of Wichita; and Lois Hughes of Pratt.  Eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two brothers, Tom Dyas of Mankato and Clyde Dyas of Celt, Missouri, and a host of other relatives and friends.
 The following relatiges were here for the memorial services of Mr. G.F. Dyas, which was held ast the Ch;dristian church, Friday afternoon; Mr & Mrs Roy Dyas and family of Wichita; Mr & Mrs H. D.Hughes and Donald of Pratt; mr and Mrs Clarence Rees and Mary Louise of Scottsville, mr & Mrs Lewis Miller and Mr & Mrs LaVern Moore of Dighton; LeRoy Moore of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; Mr & Mrs Arnold Rose and Mr & Mrs Bob Rose of Ionia, Mrs A.C. Payne and Mrs Milford Johnson of Formoso, Mr & Mrs Marian Dyas and Mr & Mrs Raymond Dyas of Omaha, NE, Mrs Coral Hibbert, Mr and Mrs Marion Matter, and Mrs Marian Dyas and Mrs Coral Hibbert, mr and Mrs Marion Matter, Mrs Hazel Wilson, Mr George Wilson, Mr and Mrs Emerson Worick, all of Jewell; Mr& Mrs Ralph Jacobson of Montrose; and Mr and Mrs Lee Vestal and Janet, John Waugh and Tom Dyas of Mankato.
 We wish to express our appreciation for the many acts of kindness shown us at the time of the death of an funeral services of our dear father; flowers sent; messages, both written and spoken; and the help of neighbors and friends during his illness.
