    George Samuel Coffey, age
    88, passed away Tuesday, April
    9, 2002.

    He was born in Monticello,
    Ky on January 31, 1914, the
    son of the late Ida (Harris)
    Coffey and L G W (Lem)
    Coffey.

    He married Dorothy Patton
    Coffey, who survives.

    He is also survived by
    seven children-Dorothy E
    Downing, Delores Smith,
    George A Coffey, Eva E.
    Coffey, Lemuel Coffey, Rita M.
    Wilkinson, and Donna
    Massengill, one sister-Allene
    Hunter; one brother-Rufus
    Coffey; 13 grandchildren; 22
    great-grandchildren, and several
    nieces and nephews.

    He had accepted Christ as
    his personal Savior at a young
    age. He recently served as a deacon
    in Steubenville Baptist
    Church.

    Funeral services were held
    Friday, April 12, 2002 at 11
    a.m at the Steubenville Baptist
    Church with Bro Mike Wells
    officiating. Burial was in the
    Monticello Cemetery.
