    George Franklin Burris, 90 son of Marshall and Mittie McGoodin Burris was born August 20, 1900, in Theron Missouri. He died July 25, 1991 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital, following a long illness.

    He was united in marriage to Olive Esther Wills November 14, 1920 and to this union four children were born, Mildred, Melvin, Marvin and Marlene.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Esther, 3 sisters, Syrena Lilly, and infant sister, 4 brothers, Henry, Tom, John, and infant twin brother and one great granddaughter.

    Survivors include his children, Mildred Mitchell, Houston, Missouri; Melvin Burris, Temple, Texas; Marvin Burris, Fenton, Missouri and Marlene Hubbs, Houston, Missouri; 2 sisters, Ruby Smith, Success, Missouri and Rhoda Garrett, Memphis, Tennessee; 2 brothers, Charles Burris, Prescott, Arizona and Wayne Burris of Houston, Missouri ; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

    Frank spent most of his life in the success community where he and his wife reared their family. He was a farmer by trade. He had also worked at Roby furniture factory and Ft. Leonard Wood.

    He and Esther moved to Houston in 1978, until entering Houston House in November of 1989. they had spent 70 years of their life together.

    He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

    Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 29 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel, With Rev. Sheldon Zook officiating, burial was at the Ellis Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers ere Bud Garrett, Ralph Garrett, Royce Smith, Rupert Smith, Bruce Smith, and Bob Creason.
