The Vital Record of Rhode Island, as transcribed by James N. Arnold, indicates that a George Bliss died Aug. 31, 1767. The entries are in order by date within surname, and this entry comes after one for 1720. It is possible that Arnold transcribed the century incorrectly prior to ordering the entries. Or it is possible that the George Bliss of Northamptonshire who died in Newport, Rhode Island is the one listed in the Vital Record as having died Oct. 25, 16--.
