from archive FGS (MRIN 264) where he appears as wife's father. In the Deutsches Einheits Familien Stammbuch for Hermann Ruf, Friedrich Otto is

 listed as living in Argentina in July of 1940 when his daughter was married to
 Hermann.  It also lists his marriage date to Anna Maria whose maiden name was
 also Haagen.  The marriage place is Berlin XI Nr. 1139.  It also lists the
 residence of Anna Maria as Stuttgart on 9 Jul 1940.

A Handwritten FGS where he appears as father of the wife notes: "Died as his

 ship went down on the way to Germany.  Had sent wife and two daughters ahead.
 Their money also went down with him." I believe I got this information from
 Gertrud Ruf.
