This entry gives his dates as 19 Dec 1825 - 21 Mar 1865.

Includes photos of his gravestone, which give his birth date (which looks like either Dec 12 1825 or Dec 19 1825) and the month (March) of his death date. One photo includes the part of his gravestone with the year of death, the first 3 digits of which appear to be 185 (but difficult to read).

  7.   Many trees say he died in/before 1860 - probably because he is not listed with his family in the 1860 census and there is no other record for him that can be easily found. Others (including Find A Grave, with no source cited) consider his death to be March 1865 - either because Evaline was born about 1865 or just to indicate halfway between the 1860 and 1870 censuses. It seems likely he had died before 1870 (when he was again not in the census record with his family), but it is not until the 1880 census that marital status was indicated and it is clear that Susan was a widow by then. If he died before the 1860 census, then the father of Susan's youngest 2 children is unknown, as it doesn't appear that she remarried.
