Frederick came to the United States from Kent, England after May 1868 and before March 1869 and in February or March of 1869 Susana and the children came. The family settled in Delaware county some where near where William Beitz farm was in the 1980's.

Several river bridges in the area are still called the Ratcliff Bridges.
