REDERICK WENTZ was born in Upper Salford Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on February 20th, 1761. He was the son of immigrant Johan Frederick(1730-1768) and Margaretha (Miller) Wentz born in 1735.

His paternal grandparents were Johan Phillip(1709-1781) and Anna Catharina Wentz, and maternal grandparents were Andreas and Elisabeth Barbara Miller.

He was a blacksmith by trade. He later moved from Montgomery Co. after May, 1783 after receiving his inheritance from his father's estate, and is listed on the 1783 Tax list in York County, Pa.

Frederick married Anna Maria Magdalena by May, 1783 in Pennsylvania.

Their children were Jacob Wentz born November 1, 1784 married Maria Sharrets Wentz (1787 - 1851), John Wentz born March 26, 1786, Frederick Wentz born January 4, 1788, Maria Margaretha Wentz born May 7, 1792, Catharine Wentz born 1794, John Philip Wentz born October 22, 1796, Susanna Wentz born September 22, 1798, and Lydia Wentz born May 26 1801.

Frederick Wentz died at age 63 on September 27th, 1824, and is buried in Baust Church Cemetery in Maryland, in the oldest section on the mound above the pond.
