Note: It is not certain that he was the son of Frederick Rhodes of Lincoln County, North Carolina. The published sources consulted did not list him as such. However, his possible (probable?) daughter Susan (married in 1808) is listed as the daughter of Frederick Rhodes of Lincoln County, and it is possible that researchers failed to distinguish records for the father from records for the son, and/or that the son left North Carolina fairly early. Other children of the elder Frederick Rhodes (Mary and Christian) moved to Missouri, so it is not unreasonable to place Frederick in this family.

Note also that the birth information might not be accurate, as his proposed father moved through Pennsylvania but was said to have moved to North Carolina about 1750.

   'I was in Cape Girardeau yesterday and found information on Frederick and Eve (Clubb) Rhodes Wills. Fredericks was probated on Dec. 27th 1836 listing Jacob Rhodes (son or grandson??) as administrator.'

   This tree indicates that he was the son of Frederick Rhodes born about 1725 in Germany (but has his birth year too close to his marriage year, so is clearly not error-free). Cites 'Peter Hoyle Book, p.67' (no further info).
