    Olmstead, Frederick Albyn, merchant, Sutton - Born at Sutton, Jan. 16, 1862, son of Alden and Harriet (Jackman) Olmstead; English ancestors coming from England to Hartford, Conn., in 1636, grandfather, Lewis Olmstead, born in Vermont, 1795, settling later at St. Armand, Que. E. public schools and Sutton Academy: 1878 entered employ of S. N. Boright and later, on the latter's retirement, with Mr. John Paintin who retired from the business in 1899, and the present firm of Olmstead and Boright was formed. Mr. Olmstead has conducted general store in Sutton for 37 years and does extensive trade; he is a leading Conservative of the township and has twice contested the County of Brome in the party interest; 1896-7-8; chairman Sutton School Board; A.F. & A.M., L.O.F.; Anglican. Married Wealthy V. French of Sutton, Sept. 1, 1885 children, H. Frederica, 1891; H. Gertrude, 1897; Frederick A., 1899; Welland F., 1905.
