Facts and Events
Will Transcipt
- I, Frederick Mauck, of the County of Harrison in the State of Indiana, being weak of body but of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my last Will in the manner following:
- First, I direct that my body be decently buried.
- Second, I direct that all my just debts be paid out of the first moneys that may come to the hands of my executors.
- Third, I give and devise to my beloved wife, Mary Ann, the use of my farm on which I now live during her life. I also give her the use during her life of all my personal property, excepting my notes. She is to has as her own property absolutely all the articles of personal property which she brought to me at our marriage.
- Fourth, I give and bequeath to my daughter, Mary Ann Roby, wife of Filman Roby, one dollar which is all she is to receive out of my estate.
- Fifth, I direct that after the death of my wife, my executors shall sell all the personal property that may remain undisposed of, and shall also sell all my real estate on such terms as they may think most advantageous to my estate, and the money arising from the sale of said property, real and personal, and all the residue of my estate of whatever it may consist, they, my executors, shall divide among my ten children-Joseph, Peter, Absalom, Martin, John, Jonathan, Henry L.R., Elizabeth, Margaret and Katheine Ann in such manner as to make all their share equal, they accounting for advancements made to them by me. Those advancements are as follows: to Martin one hundred and thirty three dollars; to Jonathan on hundred and six dollars; to John fifty dollars; and to Joseph, Peter, and Henry L. Fabrique, each the sum of four hundred dollars.
- Sixth, I also give and bequeath to my son-in-law, Jesse Longbottom, the unexpired part of the lease which he now holds of me.
- I hereby nominate and appoint my friend, John Cunningham, and my son-in-law, Curtis Roby, executors of this my last Will.
- In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 25th day of August 1856.

12. Frederick Mauck, son of John Mauck Sr. and Anna Delilah Otillia "Tilly" Zumwalt, was born on 31 May 1781 in Shenandoah Co., VA, was christened in Buried Mt. Zion Cemetary At Crossroads, died on 13 Sep 1856 in Mauckport, Harrison County, IN at age 75, and was buried in Crossroads Cem, Mauckport, , IN.
Frederick married Mary Ann Knapp on 5 Oct 1838 in Harrison County Indiana.
Frederick next married Elizabeth Mary Ann Snapp on 13 Jun 1803 in Shenandoah County, VA.
Children from this marriage were:
6 i. Joseph Mauck. Joseph married Elizabeth Frakes on 2 Jul 1826 in Harrison County, IN.
ii. Anthony Mauck was born on 8 Jun 1806 in Shenandoah County, VA and died on 13 Sep 1854 in Harrison County, IN at age 48. Anthony married Elizabeth Hays on 16 Nov 1839 in Harrison County, IN. Anthony next married on 11 Nov 1839 in Harrison County Indiana.
iii. Mary Ann Mauck was born on 28 Jun 1808 in Shenandoah County, VA. Mary married Filman Roby on 23 Jun 1831 in Harrison County, IN.
iv. Absalom Mauck was born on 5 Dec 1809 in Shenandoah County, VA and died on 5 Dec 1885 in Harrison County, IN at age 76. Absalom married Elizabeth Ann Simler on 22 Sep 1831 in Harrison Co, Indiana. Absalom next married on 22 Aug 1831 in Harrison County Indiana.
v. Martin Mauck was born on 3 Oct 1811 in Shenandoah County, VA and died in Feb 1881 in Knox County, MO at age 69. Martin married Martha Wright on 10 Sep 1840 in Harrison County, IN.
vi. Elizabeth Mauck was born on 1 Mar 1812 in Shenandoah Co, VA and died on 9 Sep 1892 in Boone Township, Harrison County, IN at age 80. Elizabeth married Harrison Whitsey Steepleton on 23 Aug 1832 in Harrison Co, Indiana.
vii. Margaret Rebecca Mauck was born on 15 Jul 1814 in Shenandoah County, VA and died on 3 Feb 1867 in Harrison County, IN at age 52. Margaret married Curtis C. Roby on 22 Dec 1831 in Harrison County, IN.
viii. Jonathan B. Mauck was born on 1 Jan 1819 in Harrison County, IN, died on 21 Sep 1886 in Newark, Knox County, MO at age 67, and was buried in Knox Co, MO. Jonathan married Sarah Watson on 23 Dec 1839 in Harrison County, IN.
ix. Peter Mauck was born on 25 Jan 1822 in Harrison Co, Indiana, died after 1843 in Millport, Knox Co. Missouri, and was buried in Knox Co, MO. Peter married Margaret Lingenfelter on 26 Mar 1843 in Harrison Co, Indiana.
x. Henry L. Fabrique Mauck was born on 21 May 1827 in Harrison County, IN and died before 1870 in Brashear, Adair County, MO. Henry married Elizabeth Ann Watson on 24 Jan 1850 in Harrison County Indiana.
xi. John Mauck was born on 3 Oct 1824 in Harrison County, IN, died on 10 Jun 1886 in Millport, Knox County, MO at age 61, and was buried in Knox Co, MO. John married Eliza Ann Watson on 23 Nov 1844 in Harrison County, IN.
xii. Catherine Ann Mauck was born on 4 Jun 1831 in Harrison Co, Indiana and died on 10 Jun 1886 at age 55. Catherine married Jesse E. Longbottom on 28 Sep 1852 in Harrison County, IN.
xiii. Dillya Odelia Mauck was born on 13 May 1836 in Harrison County, IN, was christened in Buried At Crossroads, and died on 1 Sep 1841 in Harrison County Indiana at age 5.
Frederick next married Mary Ann Knapp Carter on 5 Oct 1838.
13. Elizabeth Mary Ann Snapp, daughter of Joseph Snapp and Elizabeth Keller, was born on 10 Jan 1778 in Harrison Co, IN and died on 7 Jul 1837 in Harrison County, IN at age 59.
