3. ii. Frederick Keister, Jr. (2) born 1774 [prob. earlier abt. 1768/70]; married in 1791, Anne E. Propst. He was a great hunter. When he had obtained a substantial lot of game, he would build a signal fire on a high point on the Shenandoah Mountain. The smoke was a signal from him for help to pack the kill to his home.
