Frederick Breitenfeld, Jr., was a pioneer of educational television in the US. He was the first Executive Director of the Maryland Center for Public Broadcasting (1966-1983), when it started in 1966, and then CEO and President of WHYY, Philadelphia, PA (1983-1997). He also was an actor in a Hollywood movie in 1981 called “Polyester”.
