Frederick Wrench was born in Seaford, England, May 25, 1830, died at his home in Holt county, Mo., April 19, 1903; aged 72 years, 10 months and 25 days. Deceased has been a resident of Minnesota Valley since the fall of 1891, when he and his estimable wife moved here from England. He was engaged in farming on a small scale, and has done much ministerial work. Mr. Wrench was converted in his youth and united with the Wesleyan Methodist Church. He had been a preacher in the church for more than forty years. Upon taking his departure from England for America he was given the following church letter which shows how highly he and Mrs. Wrench were esteemed in their native land:

"Swineherd bridge, in the circuit of the United Methodist Free Churches, Boston, Lincolnshire, England,
"This is to certify that Frederick and Mary Wrench, up to the time of their departure from this country to the United States of America, were worthy and highly valued members, having Christian fellowship at Swineherd Bridge, as above mentioned. While expressing our deep regret at the loss, their removal from our midst will entail, we would most cordially commend them to the Christian sympathy of those with whom they may seek fellowship in the land of their adoption, earnestly hoping that they may find a true spiritual home, and that our Heavenly Father may grant them His loving protection and guidance, so that we may have the happiness of seeing them "where all the ship's company meet who have sailed together beneath." Signed Joseph Henshaw, Superintendent Minister, October, 1891.

This letter was deposited with Minnesota Valley Methodist Episcopal Church, Lane Douglas, pastor, July 10, 1892.

Frederick Wrench was united in marriage with Mary Twadale, June 5, 1854. Eight children were born of this union, of whom four with their mother survive. They are: Mrs. Mary Hutton, Frederick, Harry and Edward Wrench, the latter with his wife having arrive but two weeks since from Queensland, Australia.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday from the Minnesota Valley Church by Rev. Lane Douglas, who received Mr. Wrench in to the church at Minnesota Valley, and the remains were interred in the New Liberty cemetery. An unusually large concourse of friends attended the funeral , coming to pay their homage to the venerable man who had won their love and esteem by his exemplary life.
