Friday, 22 Dec 1944, Section 1, page 2FRANK SCHAFFERFrank Schaffer, of Sumneytown, husband of the the late Emma F. Schaffer (nee Bernhard), died on Friday in Quakertown Community Hospital at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 24 days. He was born in Sumneytown, a son of the late William and Mary (Schwager) Schaffer, and was a member of St. John's Lutheran church, Sumneytown. Surviving are four sons, Orestis, of Gilbertsville; Calvin, of Pennsburg, R. D.; Pvt. Franklin, U. S. Army, Holland, and Pvt. Lester, U. S. Army, France; two brothers, William and Calvin, both of Sumneytown; and four sisters, Sallie, wife of Allen Walters, Lizzie, wife of Thomas Breyer, and Fannie, wife of John Breyer, all of Sumneytown, and Mrs. Mary Fox, of Pennsburg. Seven grandchildren also survive. Short services were held from the Hoffman Funeral Home, East Greenville, on Tuesday, with continued services in Frieden's Lutheran church, Sumneytown, and interment in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. E. L. Angstadt officiated. Funeral Director Owen S. Hoffman, of East Greenville, had charge.
