He was born "Frank Lee Nutting" but changed his name legally to "Frank Lawrence Lee, Sr." (reasons unknown). This happened only shortly before his wife's death, so even though she was buried as "Essie Lee," she spent vitually all her married life as "Essie Nutting." Their son was presumably born "Frank Lawrence Nutting," but details of this are not known.
