I stumbled across George and Francis Gaddie in the 1880 Census for LaRue County, Kentucky, Magnolia District (T9, roll427, page 167). Their ages in the census are 22, which is correct. He is listed as a 'Tenant - laborer' in a household with the family name of 'Elkin' (sp?). The head of household is John (age 47), wife Sarah (39), daughter E.F. (8), and sons J. S. (6) and J. R. (2). Francis is listed as 'sister-in-law', which may mean that she was the sister of Mr. Elkin's wife, Sarah.
