Francis Joseph Holland III (Frank) passed peacefully and surrounded by family on October 29, 2016 after a two week illness at North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton Colorado.

Frank was born December 27, 1957 in Syracuse, N.Y. He was the second child of Francis Joseph "Bud" and Janice (Hering) Holland. He grew up in the Littleton area with five siblings.

Frank graduated from Arapahoe High School, Littleton, Colorado in 1976. After high school he went to work in the oil fields of Montana. Later, he worked for Petroleum Information. Wherever Frank worked, he brought his wonderful sense of humor. He loved playing jokes on his friends and did so with great relish.

Frank married Carlina Perez on November 14, 1992 and they bought a home in Littleton. When Ashley Rae was born, he was a most proud father. They had lots of daddy-daughter outings. Six years later, Amy Melissa was born and Frank was doubly proud. His two daughters were the joy of his life.

He was an avid Denver Broncos fan and loved fishing and being in the great outdoors of Colorado. He enjoyed reading in his hammock, feeding the birds, gardening and cooking. He was known for his great shrimp scampi.

Frank is survived by: his daughters Ashley Rae and Amy Melissa Holland of Littleton, CO; his mother Janice Holland-Muir of Highlands Ranch, CO; his brother William Walter Holland of Littleton, CO; his four sisters Jennifer Klekamp (David) of Littleton, CO, Melissa Armstrong (Douglas) of Laguna Niguel, CA, Mary Reekie (Drew) of Grand Junction, CO and Amy Holland Wright of Littleton, CO; his step siblings: Donald Muir, Laura Mellini (Lou), Darryl Muir and Ross Muir; his aunt Catherine Holland Crowther, Stamford, CT and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his father Francis Joseph Holland Jr. (Bud) and his step father Robert Muir.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00 am followed by a light lunch. The service will be at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 11453 E Wesley Avenue, Aurora, CO 80014. 303-755-9123 (mtoliveluth.org).
