Francis Cordrey was a sergeant in Company E, 126th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. After the war, he wrote his reminiscences in two volumes, which can be found on the ACPL "Our Military Heritage" website.

On 19 November 1868, he applied for a veterans' pension (application 137007) and was successful in obtaining it (certificate number 96353).2
