    Mr. Olmsted was born at Lakeville, Livingston County, N. Y. ; attended the Academy at Canandaigua during the years 1847, '48, '49 and '51 ; removed to Geneseo in the fall of 1853; entered the dry goods store of Turner, Bishop & Co., and was with them until Feb. 24, 1858, when he was appointed Teller of the Genesee Valley Bank (afterwards the Genesee Valley National Bank), which position he still holds. He has held several positions of trust, among them that of Treasurer of Livingston County for nearly four years. In politics, a Republican; in religion, a Presbyterian.
