Frances E. Buckner, 85, 5518N-376W, died Thursday (Aug. 17, 2000) at her home. Mrs. Buckner had been a teacher for 30 years, teaching in Chester Center, Wells County; Montpelier, Blackford County; and Huntington County. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Huntington. She was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Southern Wells County to Alpha and Anna Ester Schooley Nusbaumer. She graduated from Chester Center High School and attended Ball State University. She married Ralph W. Buckner Dec. 23, 1950, at the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington. Her husband died July 29, 1988. She is survived by a daughter, Betsy Ann Buckner of Rockville. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Frank Gready officiating. Burial will follow. Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
