Florent was also known as Janot, which is a diminutive for Jean, and was probably the Jean-Baptiste, son of Jean-Baptiste Giasson and Marie-Josephte Beaufort baptized 10 Nov 1784. In the marriage record of his daughter Emilie, his name is given as Jean Baptiste Giasson, with Jean Baptiste stroked out and replaced by Florent[4].
