QUAY 3 Finley John McRae
The. Calgary Albertan recently contained news of the death of Finley John McRae, seventy years of age, who died in Calgary on Thursday, August 10. Mr. McRae was a native of Brechin, and before going to Calgary seventeen years ago, resided in Kirkfield, where he was a Justice of the Peace. He was ill for only a short time. Deceased was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic cathedral, and the Holy N ame Society. He was also a member of the Canadian Legion. In 1915 he joined the 109th Battalion at Kirkfield and went overseas. In France, in 1917, he was transferred to the 20th Battalion and remaine d overseas until 1918. Surviving are five daughters, Mary, of Calgary; Jeanette, of Prince Rupert; Isabel, of Toronto; Mrs. Gordon Walker and Mrs. 0. McCullough, Calgary; a son, Philip, of Calgary; tw o sisters, Miss Catherine McRae and Mrs. P. J. Egan both of Brechin; two brothers, Joseph McRae. Brechin. and Ambrose McRae, of Orillia. His wife predeceased him on March 20, of this year. Requiem mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s cathedraI on Saturday, August 12. Interment was made in St. Mary’s Cem..
