From Mitchell Family loose file at Mary Ball Washington Museum and Library in Lancaster, VA, a type written biography, title “Dr. Fereol Lemoine”, source and author unknown:

“Dr. Fereol Lemoine waws a native of France, receiving in that country a polished education. He studied in the hospitals of his native country and there familiarized himself with disease at the bedside of his patients. He was a successful paractiioner of medicine and surgery in France, the West Indies and Virginia for more than fifty years. The greater part of his time was spent in Lancaster County, Virginia where he died on the 3rd of June 1833 aged seventy seven years.”
