Fanny Smith's origins are unknown. Her first sighting is on 27th May 1778, when she married Holiday Hickinbottom at Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire. Less than three months later they had their first son baptised. They had a number of children baptised at Leighton Buzzard between 1778 and 1787.

Fanny died in 1802, after 24 years of marriage, being buried on 9th November. Holiday outlived outlived her by several years.
