    At her home near Alfred, N. Y., March 27, 1900, Mrs. Frances Champlin Cornelius, aged 77 years, 5 months and 22 days.
    She was born in Rhode Island, the second daughter of Bradford and Betsy Champlin. When she was three years of age, her parents removed to Alfred, where she has since resided. At the age of fifteen She was baptized and united with the First Alfred Seventh-day Baptist church. Feb. 19, 1840, she was married to John Cornelius. Unto them were born eleven children, four daughters and seven sons, of whom two daughters and four sons survive her. Since her husband's death, in June, 1888, she has lived with her unmarried sons, who have tenderly cared for her. She was a good mother, a kind neighbor, a loyal Christian.
