Faith (Smitter) Maliepaard aged 88, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with her Lord and loved ones on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Faith was a living example of the body of Christ by her unconditional acceptance of the wide variety of people she touched in her life. She is loved by many and will be warmly remembered for her graceful spirit. Faith was preceded in death by her parents Levi and Sadie Smitter and her husband John Maliepaard. She is survived by her children Mike (Vicky) Vander Male, Paul (Carolyn) Vander Male, and Carl (Joan) Vander Male; her grandchildren Nathan, Zachary, Stephanie, Travis, Kyle, Lindsay, and Kara; great-grandchild Desmond; and siblings Joy (Ben) Mol, Nancy Van Lopik, June Vellenga, Ruth Rozema, Rhoda Van Lopik, Calvin (Jerri) Smitter, and Carol Kooistra.
