He died on a farn near Ashland- not far from Eldon ,Iowa. And was buried at or near Asland, Iowa. Sources of Information: Virgil C. Halbert's Records. 1850 U.S. Census. According to Virgil, the farm in Macoupin County, Illinois was one half mile south of the Morgan County line; Waverly, in Morgan County, was the nearest community--about 5 1/2 miles away. The eight children was born on the family farm, but not in the same house. Family moved to Wapello, County, Iowa, in 1853, probably during the fall months.
