History of the Western Reserve, p. 1495 (information probably obtained from Ezekial's grandson Thomas) says that Ezekial was born and brought up in New Jersey and learned trade of millwright in N.J. Came to Ohio in 1819 to Richland County as one of the first settlers. Built many mills in Western Reserve; died at home of his son Peter in Lyme, Huron on 30 July 1849. In 1880 Census, Peter said his father Ezekial was born in New York, and mother in New Jersey. Ezekial first appears in 1810 Allegheny Co., Maryland Census with following entry: (p. 0006) Everingham, Ezekial l male 26-45; 2 males under 10 1 female 26-45; 1 female 10-16; 2 females under 10 Ezekial next appears in 1820 Hampshire County, Virginia (now W.Va.) census, p. 237, no twp. listed. (Hampshire County is just over the line from Allegheny Co.) Everingim, Ezekial no wife shown l male child 16-26, 1 male child 10-16 1 female child 16-26, 1 female child 10-16 In *1830, Ezekial Everingham appears alone in the Richland County, Plymouth twp. census, on p. 074 (five pages away from his son Peter). He is shown as age 50- 60 with no other family members shown.
