- ↑ The identification of Pentecost's wife as daughter of Joseph and Frances Fairbanks daughter is speculative. It matches the name on the marriage record and the age at death, and she is the only candidate that appears to. However, Source:Fairbanks, Lorenzo Sayles. Genealogy of the Fairbanks Family in America, 1633-1897, p. 83, says she, called for unknown reasons (??) "Experience (Temperance)", "died April 29, 1769", apparently unmarried since no further details are given. There seems to be obvious confusion, no such death record is found to verify this, no probate for her father has been found to confirm or refute it. In the end, the speculation is encouraged by her younger sister Abigail Fairbanks marrying Rial Stanley of Attleboro, presumably a relation of Pentecost, which suggests some connections between the families. So, pending new evidence, it has been assumed.
