4. Everard Clark (1780-1829) was born in Lunenburg County, Virginia, and was William Clark's first cousin. His father was Benjamin Clark (1730-1806). His brothers were Marsten Green, Jonathan, William, and Benjamin Wilson Clark. He and some of his siblings had settled near Edmonton in Barren County (now in Metcalfe County), Kentucky by the early 1800's. Many of their Rogers cousins also settled in the area. Edmonton was named for William Clark's first cousin Edmund Rogers. Everard Clark married Lucinda Courts (d. 1823) on 10 December 1822 and served as Edmonton's first postmaster from 1826 to 1829.
