She apparently had one living relative, a niece. A number of her old family photos, mostly without identification, and a letter from a Civil War soldier in her ancestry, have come down to us. Her will names the niece as beneficiary.

Her middle name is from Alec's beneficiary statement in her favor, U.S. Civil Service Commission, 14 June 1938.
