Eva Ligon Simmons was most likely born in Franklin County, Illinois along with her other Ligon siblings. Her step-father, William Brady, owned a sawmill, with which he traveled from place to place. We first see Eva and her younger sister Paula, lodging with their mother Patsy in Saline County (where Patsy was born). It is likely Mr. Brady and the older step-sons, Elmer, Everett and Charley Ligon are on the road with the sawmill.
Eva came into Missouri as a young girl along with her family to the timber-rich forest of Missouri and northern Arkansas where she met and married James Willard Simmons.
Eva died at age 21, where and why is not yet known. I also wonder why she was buried in Illinois.
