  11. Eva's parents are listed as William H. and Susan Bass on both her marriage records, but there are grounds for thinking she might be adopted. First, there appears to be no birth record. Second, she is named Eva M. Allen in the 1855 census (note: the birth of a Eva M. Allen is recorded on 14 Jul 1854 in West Boylston to Horace and Mary Allen here, record 36), before becoming Eva M. Bass in all the later records. Third, the previous sibling was born 12 years earlier. More research is needed.
