  2. 2.0 2.1 Petersham VRs, p. 177, print an abstract of the above death record, adding to the information found that the Eunice who died 30 Oct 1847 was "w.David". David Goddard married Eunice Gunn in 1796 in New Hampshire, and David and Eunice had their first children in 1797, which would have been when the Eunice age 64 in 1847 was only 14 years old. David Goddard's wife Eunice d. 1854 (Find A Grave Mass. Deaths). So that detail added by the VRs is clearly wrong. As for Robert's wife, the death records of a couple of her children give Robert's wife Eunice's birthplace as Lancaster. Robert was a widower in the 1850 census. It appears to be his wife.

No obvious Elijah Bennett is found. Elisha Bennett baptized three children on 12 Dec 1784 (Lancaster Epitaphs, p. 315): "Decem. 12. Luke, Lois, Eunice children of Elisha Bennett & wife on her Account." Worcester Deed Vol. 263, p. 475 15 Sep 1828: "Robert Goddard and Eunice wife of the said Robert in her right and Elisha Goddard and Martha his wife in her right all of Petersham" for $50.50 convey to Jacob Fisher of Lancaster Esquire 5+ acres in the North part of Lancaster "set to the said Robert Goddards wife and Elisha Goddards wife out of that part of the estate of their late Grandfather Elisha Bennett which was set to his widow as her thirds in said estate and comprises all right title claim and interest which the said Robert and Elisha Goddard and their wives have in the estate of their late Grandfather Elisha Bennet ... [bounded] by land set out of said estate to the wife of Cyrus Fairbanks..." The wife of Cyrus Fairbanks was Mary Bennett, d/o Elisha Bennett and 2nd wife Mary Lakin. By his first wife Lois Wilder, he had son Elisha who m. Mary Goodrige and became the father of the three baptisms mentioned and also Elisha, Eli, and Martha (see Source:Fairbanks, Lorenzo Sayles. Genealogy of the Fairbanks Family in America, 1633-1897, p. 217; NEHGR, p. 56:246, "The Bennetts of Lancaster, Mass." by Ethel Stanwood Bolton).
