In Brookfield, N. Y., on Friday, Sept. 14th, 1877, of typhoid fever, after an illness of three weeks duration, Mrs. Eulalie C. Babcock, wife of H. A. Babcock, and daughter of D. C. and Eliza Coon, in the 24th year of her age. Mr. and Mrs. Babcock were married on the first of July, 1871, and spent the six intervening years pleasantly and happily, having spoken to each other during the time only words of kindness. Two children blessed their home; one is dead; and the other, a little girl too young to know her loss. In early life she became a Christian, and was baptized into the fellowship of the Seventh-day Baptist Church of this place, and ever after maintained a godly Christian life. She was a member of the choir, and often presided at the organ. A faithful member of the Sabbath-school, she leaves a mourning class who feel that the void caused by her death will never be filled. She was lovely and pleasant in her life and in her death truly and wonderfully happy. A large concourse attended the funeral, which was held on the afternoon of the fifteenth, when a brief sermon was preached by her pastor, from John 16:20. - Brookfield Courier
