    Funeral services for Ethel E. Knutson were conducted in White's chapel yesterday morning at 11 o'clock with Rev. Harold Blakeley of the First Methodist church officiating. Sacred selections were played on the organ. Private inurnment followed in the IOOF crematory.

    Ethel E. Knutson, 75 a native of Mauston, WI, and a resident of Santa Cruz since 1949 died in a local hosp. In 1907 she had moved to CA with bro. Dr. Elmer Thompson, and founded the Burbank hospital in that city in 1908. She married the late Charles Forbes there in 1913, and moved to Tulare in 1916. He died in 1928 and she mar. the late Andrew Knutson in 1931 and moved to Reedley. He died in 1848. Her home in Santa Cruz was at 122 Parnell St. She is survived by 5 sons, Hollis T. Forbes of Burbank, Richard Forbes of Fresno, Cecil and Charles F, both of San Bernardino and Herschel F. of Vallejo, 2 dau, Mrs Dorothy Doyle of Norco and Mrs Lola Kerr of Reedley: 13 grand children and 6 gr-grand children.

    She graduated from nursing school in Madison, WI Her first day in Burbank, she and Dr. Elmer T., did surgery on a farmer who had been poked thru the heart with a rake tong. He survived, and Ethel stayed with him for days. After Charles died of a heart attack, she married Andrew Knudsen, an old family friend, and moved to Reedley CA
