Ethel (Shoulders) Schemerhorn, age 67 of Bridgeport, passed away with her family by her side on Friday, August 29, 2014 in Vincennes, IN at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born in rural Bridgeport on May 24, 1947 to Raymond and Thelma (Greene) Shoulders. Ethel was married to Tony Bruce Schemerhorn for 49 years before he preceded her in death in November of 2013.

Ethel was a homemaker to her family and had earned an Associates Degree in Accounting.

Surviving family includes: three daughters- Tracie Jackson and husband Brett of Lexington, KY; Barb Houchin and husband Dewayne of Bridgeport; and Bonny Houchin and husband Allen of Bridgeport: thirteen Grandchildren- Bruce Schemerhorn, Sabrina Ceoto, Derek Lear, Gary Lear, Ryan Banks, Tyler Banks, Lacy Houchin, Amanda Houchin, Levi Drummond, Sydney Griffin, Kohl Houchin, Robert Houchin, and Kaci Houchin: four Great-Grandchildren: two sisters- Alice Brashear of Bridgeport and Linda Cooley and husband Woody of Lawrenceville: and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents- Raymond and Thelma Shoulders: her husband- Tony Bruce Schemerhorn: her son- David "Little Tony" Schemerhorn: and several brothers and sisters.
