Facts and Events
Name Ethel M Morris
Alt Name Mae Ethel _____
Gender Female
Birth[1][2][3][9] 14 May 1896 Johnson, Indiana, United States
Marriage 10 Dec 1912 Porter, Indiana, United Statesto William Francis Wiesemann
Death[1][2][3] 1 Feb 1991 Valparaiso, Porter, Indiana, United States

Ethel Morris was adopted by Sylvester and Mary (Sower) Morris as is indicated by the 1900 census (besides the explicit relationship given, Mary shows 0 children born to her). It is unknown if she was named or not at the time of birth as all records appear to only list her adoptive parents.

Some trees place her as the child of Felix Shipp and Sarah Ann Allen. However, both her marriage and death certificates indicate that she was Ethel Morris, daughter of S[ylvester] S Morris and May/Mary Sower/Sowers. Moreover, the 1900 census indicates that Sarah Ann Allen had only 2 living children - who would have been Alonzo and Mabel. Felix Shipp and Sarah Ann Allen had an unnamed child born 13 May 1896, which may be where the confusion arose. It would appear that this child died before the 1900 census.
