Obituary ETHEL BASS

 Private services for Miss Ethel S. Bass, 82, long time chief operator of Pacific Telephone Co., will be conducted in Riverside Saturday.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Riverside.
 Miss Bass, of 933 Santa Clara St., Ventura died Wednesday in a local hospital after a long illness.  She was born Oct. 25, 1891 in Riverside.  She had lived in Ventura since 1932, and had been a chief operator for Pacific Telephone Co., for 38 years before her retirement.
 Miss Bass was a member of the Soroptimist Club of Ventura, The American Association of Retired Persons, and Telephone Pioneers of America, Mission, Chapter.  She was also instrumental in starting the Visiting Nurses Association in Ventura.
 Friends may call at the Charles Carroll Chapel of the Good Shepherd, Ventura, until 9 p.m. today and all day Friday.
