- ↑ 1.0 1.1 This man is given as a son of Jacob Magee and Mary Scott in the letter of Felix W. Magee (Jacob's grandson), transcribed on the Jacob Magee/Mary Scott family page. Felix wrote that Ervin Magee died "age 21." The only other record that I have been able to locate of this man is the 1814 tax return of Lawrence County, Mississippi (which, for some reason, covered Marion County that year), in which "Erwin Magee" was assessed one poll. He does not appear on any tax returns in Lawrence County or Amite County, Mississippi before 1814. He also does not appear on the Marion County tax returns of 1815 onward. Therefore, I place his death "about 1815," and his birth "about 1794." From all appearances, this man was unmarried.
