Ernest Olan Johnson, 71, of Steele, died June 12, 1993 at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis. Born Oct. 8, 1921, he was the son of James Arthur and Sallie Nail Thompson. He was a member of the Boone Chapel Church of Christ and owned an auto parts store.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Jean Frakes Johnson of Steele; Two sisters, Lucy Neal Davidson of Hayti and Madelyn Gardner of Kennett.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Services were held June 14 at 2 p.m. at the Bradshaw's German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Bill Lovelace officiating and burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
