From "The News", Danville IL, 3/8/1876, Blount news:
"All about a tornado across Blount Twp. on Sunday night. Passed northeast over Harry Attwood house and continued in that direction. It swept the fields clean of corn shocks, tore off roof of Ras Fairchild house on Ottawa Road, burst the windows open and actually lifted Ras out of the house and across the yard and hurled him with great force against the fence. Badly shaken up, Ras was able to report for duty the next morning."[1]
