Erastus Babcock, son of Russell, was born in Scott, N. Y., about 1819 His father was among the early settlers of Scio. Erastus married Doroleski Perkins, settled in Wirt, and had 5 children. Mr. Babcock was a farmer, was also engaged in lumbering. He died in 1863. His widow resides in Scio.
