Will Transcript

In the Name of God Amen, I Erasmus Holsable of Manchester Township in the County of York and State of Pennsylvania am old, but of good, disposing mind, memory and understanding, thanks be given to God, to make, ordain and Publish, declare my Last Will and Testament in following maner that is to say, First I commit my Soul [?] unto the of Almighty God who give it me and my Body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like maner at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and as _____ such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me one as I give ___ and dispose of the same in the following manner: Impremiss:
It is my will and I do hereby order that my just debts and funeral expenses shall be first paid by my Executors hereafter as soon as commendly [?} by be after my decease.
Item and give and bequeath unto my son Adam Holsable the sum of twelve pounds over and above his equal share hereafter named.
Item ad is my will, and I give and bequeath unto my son Henry Holsable for form of ten pounds over his equal share hereafter named.
Item and I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Holsable the sum of ten pounds over and above his eaqual [sic] share hereafter named.
Item and I give my son Erasmus Holsable the sum of twenty pounds over and above his equal share hereafter named.
Item and I give my son Berned Holsable the sum of ten pounds over and above his equal share hereafter named.
Item and it is my will that my now dwelling plantation shall be sold for the best prise [sic] at publick sale by my hereafter named Executors and give good deet or deets [sic, debts?] thereof as if I had done myself and all my other goods is to be sold as soon as to be convenient and it is my will I to hereby ordain that all the money to be raised out of my whole estate and if all my just debts and demands is to be first paid and which is afore bequeathed are dook [?] of then the resotu [residual?] is to be divided among my five sons, Adam, Henry, Jacob, Erasmus and Berned and among my daughters, Mary ___, the wife of Philip Wenets and Elizabeth, now the wife of Henry Shock, and Catarine, now the wife of Jacob Clingman, and Barbara, now the wife of Jacob Fockler, and Christina, now the wife of David Stein, and Margredt, now the wife of Frederick Hoober in lich [like] equal shares to be for their heirs and Afosgus [?} forever, and wen [when] my said plantation is to be sold and then it is my will that wen [when] the money will com [come] in so will be devistet [divested] yearly among all my children aforesaid in lick [like] equal shares and that so on every year that the whole is paid and Lastly I do hereby Nominate and apint [appoint] my Erasmus Holsable and my son-in-law Gotlib Fackler both of the Township of Manchester to be my lawful Executors of this my Last Will and Testament; and I to hereby revoke and make void all other and former wills by me herefore made ratifying, allowing and holling [?] this for firm and Effectuelly [?]
In witness whereof the said Erasmus Holesable the testator set hereto my hand and seal this twenty-sixth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two.

Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in & for the County of York in the State of Pennsylvania personally came Nicholas Hentz & John Jacoby the two subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Instrument of Writing and their solemn oath do feverally [?]] say, that they were personally and saw & heard the above named Erasmus Holtzapfel make his mark unto and seal and publish the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his Last Will and Testament and at the time of the doing thereofs he the said Erasmus Holtzapfel ws of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their Knowledge & Belief; and what the Subscribed their names thereto as Witnesses in the presence of the said Testator and at his request and in the presence of each other at the same time.---
