5'0" |
Boarder Crossing documents list her DOB as 1901 and place of birth as Quelite, along with her height of 5'0" and destination of Phoenix, AZ.
From 1945 Boarder Crossing document: "States has resided 9 months in Tiajuana, MX, that came from Mazatlan. States has green sons working in Tiajuana, MX who support her."
Lists marital status as "widow" which is not correct unless she had a second marriage but that is unlikely before 1920. She did not read or write. She had an unlimited passport issued in Tiajuana MX and made crossings from San Ysidro frequently because "everything ..groceries, etc is more expensive in Mexico." Per I-### card, limited to one day trips to San Diego."
El QUELITE is located 25 miles northeast of Mazatlan, on the banks of the river that bears its name. The colorful village of EL QUELITE was the scene of major historical events during the Mexican revolution. By those years, several Rebel groups where formed and the most recognized was “Los Laureanos”, whose members were the scourge of the rich people of the region stealing the gold, that was carried thru the roads in stagecoaches, proceeding from the Sierra Madre mountains towards the coast. The town's church is Lady of Guadalupe.
