Ephraim moved his family from North Carolina which consisted of his wife Sarah Wells Stout and 4 or 5 children to Indiana in 1846. It is probable that the following children; Juran, Irvin, Caroline, Delphine, and Huston were born to then in North Carolina. Two more sons were born, Mabel and Murphy McCoy. After Sarah died Ephraim married Saarah Hill and by her was the father of Alfred and Levi. These two boys married and moved to Montana. Ephraim Stout is buried at Lick Creek Quaker Cemetary near Paoli, Indiana. Ephraim's second wife (Sarah) died and he married Hannah Hollowell on Feb 2, 1846.
